The Best RV's By Class

Owning an RV means socially-distant vacations, no gas station bathrooms on road trips, and, for some, a place to call home full-time.

Whether you are looking for the best RVs for fulltime living or just shopping around to take one on weekend vacations, we’ve compiled a list of the best motorhomes for any situation!

This list is categorized by the type of RV to make it easier to skip to the section you’re most interested in. Use the table of contents below to jump around, or just scroll through.

Let’s dive in!

Table of Contents

What Kind of RV Should I Buy?

The “best RV” is extremely subjective. It’s not as simple as using the best materials… you also have to think about the layout, what you want to use it for, factory warranties, features, and more. That’s why there is no single “best RV”.

As we go through the best RVs by type in this guide, I’ll share who each RV is best for (families on vacation vs couples vs full-time RVs, etc.) as well as what makes it so good.

So as you’re scrolling through, at the top of each section will be an explanation of who that type of RV is best for, and which RVs are best-in-class for that type. Let’s dive in!

Class A RVs are some of the biggest rigs available in the RV space. These motorized campers often come with the most space and features, pulled by the biggest diesel engines.

Keep in mind, however, that the large size means you will be limited to campgrounds with big enough lots to fit your rig and there are a lot of places you won’t be able to camp (such as some National parks).

Best Class B RVs

Class B RVs, often called camper vans, are the smallest motorhomes you can buy. They often use a regular van chassis but come in many different sizes.

Because of their small size, they can easily fit in parking lot spaces for stealth camping. This, plus being easy to drive and maintain, is why many van lifers choose to live in these RVs!

A small class B RV is best for anyone who wants the best gas mileage and easy driving (and doesn’t mind having limited storage space and (in some rigs) no bathroom).

It comes with a shower that, surprisingly, doesn’t take up too much room in the van, which gives you extra storage space inside of the camper! The attachable awning also gives you the ability to set up a table and chairs outside of the vehicle so you could sit and enjoy your time outside.

Best Fifth Wheels

Now we’re moving from motorhomes to towable RVs.

Fifth wheels are the easiest to tow (thanks to their unique hitch design) and often have the most space of any type of camper.

However, due to their large size, you are also limited to where you can stay (similar to a class A). Plus, you need a beefy tow vehicle to be able to tow them.

Fifth wheel RVs are best for anyone who already has a good tow vehicle and wants to be able to leave their camper on-site while they explore town, but doesn’t mind being limited to where they can camp and are comfortable driving a big rig. With such a broad range of brands to choose from, we’re sure you’ll find the perfect rig! Don’t forget, you can always find help from manufacturers!

This camper is jam packed with everything you could ever dream of having while on camping trips. With a beautiful interior and spacious layout, this provides you with everything you’ll need.

Best Travel Trailers

Travel trailers are towed behind your vehicle rather than in the bed of your pickup truck. This means, a lot more vehicles can pull them!

A travel trailer is the towable equivalent of a class C motor home, because they come in almost any size. Regardless of your wants and needs, you’ll probably find a travel trailer that fits them (and there’s a wide variety of price points, so you can save money with these rigs). There are travel trailers with bunkhouses, giant travel trailers, and mini camping trailers!
